The owners of this East Islip pizzeria says they’re just doing their part during the COVID-19 health crisis.
Since the outbreak, Gio’s Pizza has dropped off free pizza pies at Bay Shore’s Southside Hospital as well as local fire departments.
“We’re giving food to people who are out of work and need it,” said Gio’s manager, Larry Betro. “We’re pitching in like everybody else.”
The pizzeria, located at 213 Carleton Avenue, is also offering free lunches for healthcare workers.
“As long as we are here, we are always going to try and do the right thing,” Betro told GreaterBayShore.
