Great Nights: Scenes from Patchogue’s first Alive on the River summer fest

|

The summer season is in full swing on Patchogue River, highlighted by the return of the Alive on the River festival series.

Starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday night — the summer’s first installment — The Oar House, Off Key Tikki, Dublin Deck, Harbor Crab Co., and Drift 82 offered live music and drink specials for all patrons.

And for $10, bar hoppers hitched unlimited rides on H2O Limo water taxis, which drove up and down the river to every joint throughout the evening.

The unlimited offer also applied to Paddle Pub party boats.

Although the drinking stayed on the shore, the dancing made its way onto the paddle boats, which thundered party anthems and flashed lights as the sun went down.

For those who could not make the fun Wednesday, there are four more Alive on the Rivers slated for Wednesdays this summer: July 20, Aug. 3, Aug. 17, and Aug. 31. There are no rain dates.
