Below is a sampling of weekend events from our community calendar.
This weekend in Greater Patchogue kicks off Friday night with some Laughter in the Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in Patchogue Village.
Three comedians will be performing, plus a surprise guest, all for $10 at ticket.
But seating is limited, the organizers stress.
Then on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m., there’s a craft beer crawl for charity along Main Street in Patchogue, with benefits going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in New York, according to the organizers.
Later Saturday, the Bellport Dance Team is hosting a Chinese auction fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bellport Middle School.
And on Sunday, also in Bellport, there will be a back-by-popular-demand repeat lecture by local historian Victor Principe that deals with historic preservation and the threat of “creeping inappropriateness.”
