Great Weekends: L.I.’s best Christmas Parade is Saturday in Patchogue

|

This is the weekend of the big Patchogue Village Christmas Parade, which the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce bills as the biggest and oldest such parade on Long Island.

It gets started at 6 p.m. on Main Street with a tree lighting to follow at Capital One Plaza.

That same Saturday after Black Friday is also Small Business Saturday now, through American Express, during which people are encouraged to do some shopping at the mom-and-pops for the holidays. To help, the Patchogue chamber is running a photo scavenger hunt. In Bellport Village, the camber will be holding a soup contest downtown from noon to 2 p.m.

Of course Sunday is the big Holiday Concert & Community Sing-A-Long at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. The big show kicks off at 3 p.m. Click here for details.

Then Monday (not exactly the weekend, we know) is the tree lighting in Bayport.
