Great Weekends: Zombie run, Nissan 112 fest and Boo!

|

Did you miss this week’s Zombie Crawl in Patchogue Village?

Well then, now’s your chance to run like a zombie, which some might argue is just a grade above crawling.

The Patchogue Fire Department’s Euclid Hose Co. is sponsoring its Running Dead 5K twilight race that kicks off in Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Registration starts at the park at 3 p.m. and the gun fires at 4 p.m. It’s $25 ahead of time and $30 Saturday.

There are actually seven events on the community calendar for Saturday, with one involving Red Cross vehicles and local volunteers traveling through neighborhoods handing out free smoke alarms. (Don’t be alarmed.)

Nissan 112 is also hosting a harvest festival with free food, fun and more.

To keep the fall and Halloween theme going, Sunday’s big headliner is Boo! A Family Friendly Halloween Musical at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. This was a show previously put on in Central Park.
