Greater Long Island supports ‘Plaza of the Past’ development project

|

Editorial

Tired of the same old new stores?

Greater Long Island fully supports resurrecting dead brands, something our readers call for often in Facebook comments.

“Bring back Caldor!” readers will often write.

We also hear “Panderosa was the best.”

So our art department drew up the above rendering, where the only thing missing is a free-standing Bennigan’s, Chi-Chi’s or Beefsteak Charlie’s.

We sincerely hope would-be developers and planners are reading this, because Long Island doesn’t need another randomly placed self-storage facility.

And enough with the medical offices; they’re boring.

Lastly, for the love of Nassau and Suffolk counties, don’t approve another laundromat. What we really need is a Blockbuster, KB Toys, RadioShack, Pathmark, Woolworth, Tower Records or Warner Bros. Studio Store.

Build it, and they will come.

And another thing, Happy April Fools’ Day!

Seriously, though, someone build this Plaza of the Past development project. Then duplicate it across the country.
