‘Hebrew Hammer’ of Shirley returns to the ring Sept. 4, defends title in Huntington

|

The “Hebrew Hammer” is ready to strike again.

Shirley native Cletus Seldin steps back into the boxing ring Saturday, Sept. 4, at 8 p.m. to defend his NABA super lightweight title at The Paramount in Huntington. He’ll be challenged by Puerto Rico native Victor Vazquez (11-5).

Seldin, who lives in Bay Shore, has lost just one time in 26 bouts. He hasn’t boxed since successfully defending his title on Feb. 28, 2020, with a TKO win over Colombian Luis Florez. The Longwood High School grad has recorded 21 knockout wins.

The Paramount has served Seldin well over the years. He has fought there 17 times and never lost. His Saturday bout is the main event of a card that’s available on pay-per-view through FITE.
