Nassau County is home to 15 of the best 50 public high schools in New York for 2025, including Jericho and Syosset, both of which are among the nation’s top 100 high schools, Niche attests in its new Best Schools and Districts rankings.
At No. 10, Jericho is the highest-ranked public high school in Nassau County in Niche’s study. Syosset follows closely at No. 11, with Great Neck South at No. 15, Manhasset at No. 16 and Roslyn at No. 19.
Nassau’s 15 highest-rated public high schools each earned an overall grade of A+ from Niche, a top data analytics outlet for K-12 schools and colleges. Rankings are based on a comprehensive assessment of academics, college readiness, teacher quality, extracurricular opportunities, diversity and other factors.
According to Niche, their rankings are designed to provide a thorough, objective assessment of academic excellence, student experience and overall school quality.
