Three Nassau County healthcare facilities are among the top 10 hospitals in New York State, according to U.S. News & World Report‘s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals Rankings.
At the very top of the list is Northwell Health’s North Shore University Hospital, which is among four healthcare facilities that finished in a tie for best hospital in the state. Highly ranked nationally in nine key adult specialties, the Manhasset hospital is the sole Long Island hospital to appear this year on U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Honor Roll.
Out of 5,000 hospitals analyzed in the report, North Shore ranked No. 7 in the nation for orthopedics, No. 10 for diabetes and endocrinology and No. 11 for pulmonology and lung surgery.
Another Northwell facility, Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, is in a two-way for fifth on the list of best New York hospitals. The medical center is highly ranked nationally in nine adult specialties and eight children’s specialties.
St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center in Roslyn is No. 7 on the New York list, rating highly across the country in eight adult specialties. At No. 27, Plainview Hospital is Northwell’s third medical facility ranked among U.S. News’ top 30 New York hospitals.
Suffolk County also counted four hospitals on U.S. News top 30 for New York.

No. 1 (tie) — New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell
No. 5 (tie) — Northwell’s Lenox Hill Hospital in New York
No. 5 (tie) — Northwell’s Long Island Jewish Medical Center
No. 7 — Montifiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
No. 8 — St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center in Roslyn
No. 9 — Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West Hospitals
No. 10 — New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
