This summer’s Alive After Five installments in downtown Patchogue will happen July 14 and 28 and Aug. 11 and 25.
As reported by GreaterPatchogue in January, those were the tentative dates brought before the Village Board for approval. The board has just approved those dates.
Alive After Five had been on hiatus since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The only thing to do next is figure out how, exactly, outdoor drinking will be handled, said David Kennedy, the executive director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the street festival series that’s known to attract upward of 25,000 people in one night.
Typically, outdoor drinking at Alive After Five is contained to what’s called drinking pens, sometimes shared by multiple restaurants. Live bands also perform in some pens.
“We are extremely excited to bring back Patchogue’s famous Alive After Five, a sure sign we are putting the past two years behind us!” Kennedy said.
He continued, promising the festivals will be “the best of what we know and love, along with some exciting new experiences” that he’ll divulge the details of later.
“Stay tuned, and get ready to get back out on Main Street this summer,” Kennedy said.
