Bay Shore’s YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts has plenty in store for summer 2019.
“The Y Boulton Center, now in its 15th year has something for everyone this summer!” Michele Rizzo-Berg, of the Y Boulton Center, told GreaterBayShore.
This year’s lineup features a mix of musical performances, movie screenings, theatrical productions, comedy shows, and more.

June 26 – “One Crazy Summer” on the BIG screen
John Cusack (Being John Malkovitch, “City Hall”) stars as a young artist who must write and illustrate a love story in order to gain admittance to college.
June 28 – Acoustic Alchemy
Acoustic Alchemy has spent thirty years making music and in that time they have not only received critical acclaim for their albums (including three Grammy nominations), but have built a reputation for being one of the most exciting live bands in the business.
June 29 – Vanilla Fudge
Vanilla Fudge was one of the first American groups to infuse psychedelia into a heavy rock sound to create “psychedelic symphonic rock” an eclectic genre which would, among its many offshoots, eventually morph into heavy metal. Although at first, the band did not record original material, they were best known for their dramatic heavy, slowed-down arrangements of contemporary pop songs which they developed into works of epic proportion.
July 6 – Slide guitar player Jack Broadbent
Hailed as “The new master of the slide guitar” by the Montreux Jazz Festival and “The real thang” by the legendary Bootsy Collins, Jack Broadbent has spent the past year wowing international audiences with his unique blend of virtuosic acoustic and slide guitar, and poignant folk and blues-inspired vocals.
July 12, 13, and 14 – Broadway comes to Bay Shore with Pippin
With an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man’s journey to be extraordinary.
July 19 – Big Laughs Comedy
Three of the Tri-States funniest comedians to our stage, for what promises to be an evening full of laughs.
July 20 – “Grease” Sing-Along – Come in costume!
This fully interactive screening of the classic film GREASE with on-screen subtitles is “The one that you want.”
July 24 – “Jaws” on the BIG screen
Academy Award-winner Steven Spielberg directs one of the most influential and gripping adventures in film history about the hunt of a deadly great white shark.
July 26– The Blues Beatles
Blues Beatles started during the breaks of the rehearsals of today – an original band that Marcos Viana, Flavio Naves, Lancaster Ferreira, Bruno Falcão and Fred Barley started in 2010.
July 27 – Joan Osborne
Joan Osborne has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the great voices of her generation — both a commanding, passionate performer and a frank, emotionally evocative songwriter.
Aug. 17 – Blues guitarist, Ronnie Baker Brooks
On the first day recording Times Have Changed – the eleven-track album from Chicago bluesman Ronnie Baker Brooks that brings a sound so big it could topple a Louisiana juke joint – industry-revered album producer and drummer Steve Jordan told Brooks to put his pedal board back in the van. For the first time in his professional life, Brooks, the son of Texas and Chicago blues legend Lonnie “Guitar Jr.” Brooks, would plug a Gibson into TKTK amp and rip it straight from there.
Aug. 21 – “Can’t Buy Me Love” on the BIG screen
Ronny is secretly in love with Cindy, the most popular girl on campus.
Aug. 24 – Louis Prima Jr. & The Witnesses
Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses are bringing Prima music into the 21st century. Not content to sit on the legacy they so passionately protect, LPJ and the band are taking a page from his father’s playbook, by wailing “Prima-Style” like it’s 2014.
