Here’s when the seasonal hot spots open for summer 2024 on Long Island

It’s that time of year when Long Island’s waterfront and other seasonal restaurants and bars start pulling down their tarps for summer. Here’s a list of our favorite spots and the opening dates, all provided directly from the owners or management. Tap the place names to visit their websites or social media feeds for addresses, menus, operating hours and other updates.

Note: These list is strictly for seasonal operations, not waterfront restaurants that are open year-round.


Salt Shack Seaside Grill

Cedar Beach, Babylon

Flo’s Luncheonette

Blue Point

Opened April 5 at 302 Middle Road, just north of Corey Beach.

Flynn’s Fire Island

Ocean Bay Park

The family-owned seafood restaurant known for its fun summer party scene at 1 Cayuga Street in Ocean Bay Park is set to open May 17 weekend.

Sand Castle on the Ocean

Cherry Grove

One of two Fire Island spots on the Atlantic Ocean. Opening weekend is May 10 to May 12.

Little Fish

Kenny’s Beach, Southold

Little Fish opened on Easter for its second season at Kenny’s Beach, though for spring hours.

Cooper Bluff

Oyster Bay

Ownership is currently eyeing the first warm weekend in May, but they already have a mariachi band booked for Cinco de Mayo, weather permitting. Keep an eye on their Instagram feed for updates.

The Casino Cafe & Bar

Davis Park

One of Fire Island’s only two oceanfront restaurant kicks off its season on Friday, May 3. They will also be hosting a big Kentucky Derby party on May 4. Click here for more info.

Dublin Deck

Patchogue River

Things get rolling with HempFest on Saturday, April 27. Doors open at 3 p.m. Then, starting May 2, Dublin Deck is open Thursdays through Sundays. Open seven days a week starting May 11.

Baja Boathouse

Patchogue River

Now entering its second summer season on the river at the former Off Key Tikki location. Ownership tells us the opening day will happen May 17.

Nicky’s on the Bay
