Here’s where you can drink coffee with a Suffolk cop on Oct. 4

|

Wednesday is National Coffee with a Cop Day — and the Suffolk County Police Department is all in.

Officers in each of Suffolk’s seven police precincts will take part in events aimed at bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community, meeting with people in casual environments and looking to engage in relaxed conversations with residents.

National Coffee with a Cop is a day dedicated to encouraging communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public.

Here are the seven Coffee with a Cop events scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Suffolk:

FIRST PRECINCT: Dunkin’ Donuts, 1115 Montauk Highway in Copiague, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

SECOND PRECINCT: Starbucks, 305 West Jericho Turnpike in Huntington, 12:30-2 p.m.

THIRD PRECINCT: Bay Shore Bean, 47 East Main St. in Bay Shore, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

FOURTH PRECINCT: Hauppauge Public Library, 1373 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

FIFTH PRECINCT: Coho Coffee House, 62 West Main St. in Patchogue, 3-5 p.m.

SIXTH PRECINCT: 7-Eleven, 500 Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station, 10:30 a.m.-noon.

SEVENTH PRECINCT: Stop & Shop, 245 Route 25A in Rocky Point, noon-2 p.m.

National Coffee with a Cop Day began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016. It occurs each year on the first Wednesday in October.
