Video: Honda minivan erupts in flames at downtown Patchogue intersection

A Honda minivan burst into flames at a Main Street traffic light in front of Gallo restaurant in downtown Patchogue Saturday, spewing flames and smoke into the air and sending pedestrians scrambling from the scene.

Suffolk Police confirmed the vehicle fire, which broke out about 5 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Video captured by City Swag Hype clothing store and posted to its Instagram page showed orange flames shooting from the front end of the dark-colored Honda Odyssey as bystanders scurried clear of the burning vehicle. Click below to watch:

Firefighters arrived and put out the blaze, and the area returned to normal shortly after. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.

“Shot out to all the firefighters took care this asap. 🙏Anywhere else this would take hours,” City Swag Hype wrote in its post.
