Every December, three towering toy soldiers return to their familiar posts outside Drew Patrick Spa in Bay Shore.
But this year’s display carries a special milestone.
It’s been 10 years since the spa brought the oversized figures to Long Island, giving a bit of Radio City holiday magic to Main Street.
The figures first appeared outside the spa in 2017, when co-owner Drew Allt and his team unveiled the display as part of the business’s 10-year anniversary celebration.
Allt had said the spa wanted to do something “extra special” for the holidays and the downtown.

“The toy soldiers were used as props for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for many years, and as recently as 2005,” Allt said when the figures debuted.
But they weren’t shipped from the city.
The spa’s owners purchased the 11-foot-tall pieces (four in total) at a flea market in Massachusetts.
After a bit of refurbishing and patiently waiting for the spa’s big anniversary, they brought them up for the holidays, during which Drew Patrick’s first-floor retail space transforms into what Macy’s used to look like — in decades long gone.
Three stand guard outside Drew Patrick, another is inside, next to the 14-foot Christmas tree.
“We love the holiday season at Drew Patrick and enjoy playing Christmas music,” Allt said. “And creating holiday displays to share the joy.”
