‘I Heart Mac & Cheese’ is headed to North Babylon

|

The Florida-based I Heart Mac & Cheese plans to open a new location in North Babylon.

A spokesperson from the company on Tuesday announced husband and wife team and Long Island residents, Orison and Casandra Wiggins, agreed to open the customizable mac and cheese restaurant in their hometown by September 2020.

As of now, no information has been released on a specific location.

I Heart Mac & Cheese, which opened an eatery in Patchogue earlier this year, operates like a Chipotle.

Customers go down the line creating their own favorite dishes, according to company reps. Mac & cheese lovers will get a choice of pasta or pastas with specialty cheese sauce and other cheeses, veggies and proteins.

The Wiggins family is overjoyed at the prospect of bringing cheesy dishes to the area.

“My wife and I are excited to join the I Heart Mac & Cheese brand and continue spreading the word about this incredible restaurant throughout Long Island and beyond,” said Wiggins, a technology entrepreneur. “We have two young sons — ages 3 and 7, and mac and cheese has been a staple in our household.”

I Heart Mac & Cheese has its sights on expansion on the island since rolling out the Patchogue store, which was Long Island’s first.

“We are thrilled to bring our popular concept into North Babylon to expand our presence throughout the state of New York,” said Stephen Giordanella
“We’re also excited to introduce our new vegan menu with more choices for varying ages, lifestyles and cravings.”

Together, I Heart Mac & Cheese has nearly a dozen locations in Florida, Oklahoma and New York, with contracts inked to open spots at universities across the country.
