One of the largest indoor pickleball complexes in the region is now open in Medford.
Pickleball Heaven, a 60,000-square-foot facility on National Boulevard, celebrated its grand opening in September, bringing 16 courts, a sports bar and an entertainment-driven experience the owners say will be “the pickleball version of Topgolf.”
Co-owners Don Rickey and Anthony Adler said the vision was to build more than just a place to play.
“This is more about fun and family-friendly vibes,” said Rickey. “It’s not intimidating. We’re focusing on a good culture, where everyone feels welcome.”

More than pickleball

The venue features 16 courts — including two championship courts — each with its own private lounge and television.
“We want people to recognize that walk-ins are welcome,” Rickey said. “You can even just come to the café or bar and hang out — it’s designed for everyone.”
Beyond the courts, Pickleball Heaven has built out a 60-foot bar and kitchen serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The “Healthy Corner” café serves smoothies, juices, wraps, salads, and overnight oats.
At the heart of the social space is a 30-foot-wide, 15-foot-tall LED video wall — which Rickey says will be the largest sports viewing screen on Long Island. “Super Bowl, March Madness, tournaments — we can do anything we want with it,” he said.
The facility also includes a 1,500-square-foot circuit training gym, a pro shop, and plenty of space for clinics, leagues, and tournaments.
Why Medford?
Rickey said Medford was chosen for its central location and community spirit.
“Medford comes across as being a great area that loves to support mom-and-pop and homegrown businesses,” he said. “That’s what we are. We’re all from Long Island.”
Pickleball Heaven will open at 645 National Blvd. in Medford, across from Sunshine Square shopping center, just south of the Long Island Expressway.
