Puerto Rican-style empanadas have arrived in Lindenhurst.
Long Island’s popular Island Empanada franchise operation is debuted its ninth location today, Aug. 4, in Lindenhurst’s Sunrise Plaza, next to the new Chonky Cookies.
Located at 646 North Wellwood Ave., the new location is run by husband and wife Peter and Kerry Muino of Holbrook.
“I know so many good things are going to come out of operating in Lindenhurst,” Muino said in a previous greaterbabylon.com report. “It’s really a great town and it’s an exciting time for us.”
The couple ditched their longtime jobs to get into the food business, and they are now co-owners of two different food franchise stores.
Back in May, the Muinos opened the first-ever Emack & Bolio’s Ice Cream location in Manorville.
The 2,000 square-foot Island Empanada Lindenhurst storefront will remain consistent with the franchise’s brand.
