The New York Islanders are teaming up with USA Hockey to bring a weeklong celebration of the sport to UBS Arena, and fans of all ages are invited to join the fun.
Hockey Week Across America, running from Feb. 17-23, is an annual initiative designed to introduce new players to the game while giving longtime fans a chance to deepen their love for the sport. This year, Northwell Presents The Park, located just outside UBS Arena, will serve as the hub for a packed schedule of activities.
The week will feature a variety of sessions, including Learn to Play, Coaching Development, Try Hockey for Free, and several themed skating opportunities. Families, community groups, and young athletes can take part in Public Skates, Community Skates, Family Skates, and a Girls Jamboree, giving everyone a chance to lace up their skates and hit the ice.
The Islanders have a long tradition of grassroots hockey support, including recent initiatives to grow girls’ hockey on Long Island.
