Islip softball star Maddie Feddersen has committed to joining the Bloomfield College Bears in New Jersey next year.

Feddersen, a senior at Islip High School, will pitch for Bloomfield, a Division II team.

The school district made the announcement this week.

“We are very proud of Maddie’s achievement in continuing her athletic career in college,” Islip athletic director Bob Panariello said in a statement. “It is a testament to her high level of dedication.”

This past spring, Feddersen threw a complete game and went 4-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs in a win over Sayville in the Suffolk Class A semifinals.

She also retired the final 10 batters she faced for another playoff win over Hampton Bays.

Feddersen, who also plays first base, was also a member of the LI Express 18U Gold travel softball team.
