Jake’s 58 shows off expansion progress with video from Islandia

Jake’s 58 is giving Long Islanders a peek behind the curtain.

Or, rather, the work cranes and scaffolding.

The Islandia hotel and casino, along with Aurora Contractors, LLC, just shared a video to Instagram that highlights the progress being made on the casino and hotel’s massive $210 million expansion, which broke ground last spring.

The 300,000-square-foot project, being led by Aurora, will nearly double the size of Jake’s 58, adding a slew of new features including restaurants, a conference center, an exhibition hall and concert venue.

The buildout also includes plans for an ultra-VIP lounge with an outdoor terrace and hundreds of new hotel rooms.

The expansion will also add 1,000 new video lottery terminals — doubling the current number — along with additional parking, officials have said.

Jake’s 58 first opened in 2017 near Exit 58 on the Long Island Expressway’s North Service Road, with the then-casino operators taking over a Marriott hotel.

Now owned and operated by Suffolk OTB, the expansion is being led by the county’s OTB head, Phil Boyle, a former New York State senator. He was joined by local and state lawmakers last April for the ceremonial groundbreaking.

Suffolk OTB officials have said the expansion will create more than 800 union construction jobs and 125 permanent positions once complete. The goal is to finish the project by spring 2026.

Jake’s 58 does remain open during the construction.

The casino’s latest video, published to Instagram, showcases active construction and offers a glimpse of what’s coming:
