James Taylor and Grateful Dead tribute bands headline Hempstead Summer Concert Series

The Town of Hempstead continues its 2024 Summer Concert Series tonight with a performance from James Taylor cover band Hourglass at Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence.

Later in the week, on Thursday, Grateful Dead tribute band Half Step will perform at Echo Park in West Hempstead. The 8 p.m. shows are part of a diverse week of free concerts in venues across the town. Below is the schedule for the remainder of the week (each show begins at 8 p.m.).

Monday, July 15: Hourglass plays the hits of James Taylor at Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence.

Tuesday, July 16: Locals can get their country on with Locmore at Shell Creek Park in Island Park.

Wednesday, July 17: “Forever In Blue Jeans” and “If You Know What I Mean” are a couple of the tunes you can expected when So Good! The Neil Diamond Experience performs at Merrick Road Park in Merrick.

Thursday, July 18: “We’re Truckin'” with a little “Sugar Magnolia” as Half Step performs the hits of the Grateful Dead at Echo Park in West Hempstead.

Friday, July 19: “Take it on the Run” with Speedwagon – The REO Experience at Speno Park in East Meadow.
