Jennifer Murphy Augustine’s life was full of love — for her family, her friends, her creative work and the Long Island communities she served. Now, those same communities are grieving her death and stepping up to support her family.
Augustine, a beloved wife, mom, and small business owner from Floral Park, died on July 11. She was 38 years old.
She was the creative force behind Forget Me Knots Floral Design, a business that served clients across Long Island, and Wild Flour Studio, a charming plant and gift boutique based in Stewart Manor. Her artistry and warmth brought joy to weddings, events and homes across Nassau and Suffolk.
Augustine’s wake and funeral Mass were held earlier this week, with services at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park and Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church.
In the days following her passing, more than 500 people came together to raise over $113,000 through a GoFundMe campaign organized by someone close to Augustine and her family.
“Jenn was beautiful, funny, smart, generous, and so incredibly loving,” the fundraiser’s organizer wrote. “She was the best mom, a devoted wife, and a constant source of love and joy to everyone who knew her.”
The GoFundMe, titled “We Mourn the Loss of Jenn Murphy Augustine,” is helping to ease the burden on Augustine’s family. Donations will go toward funeral costs and helping Augustine’s husband care for their child Marlowe in the months and years ahead.
“This loss has shaken us all,” the post continues. “And yet, the kindness pouring in from our friends, neighbors, and complete strangers has lifted us in ways we never imagined.”
