Jennifer Lawrence shooting comedy ‘No Hard Feelings’ on Long Island

Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence is filming scenes for an upcoming comedy, “No Hard Feelings,” right here on Long Island.

Last month, Newsday reported the Lawrence-led comedy was set to film in various locations in the Town of Hempstead, including Point Lookout, Lawrence and Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale. Friday, People reported the “Hunger Games” star was spotted filming a scene with costar Andrew Barth Feldman, a Woodmere native whose credits include the title role in a Broadway production of “Dear Evan Hansen.”

The scene, which People described as Lawrence and Feldman leaving “an animal rescue facility,” is meant to take place in Montauk, based on signage scene in photographs of the set. Newsday reported a film crew was prepping Ted’s Fishing Station in Point Lookout to be “Montauk Dock East.”

The coming-of-age comedy, set in Montauk, finds Lawrence responding to a Craigslist ad that Feldman’s mother posted to get someone to date him before he goes off to college, according to Vogue. At the helm is director and co-writer Gene Stupnitsky, whose other credits include co-writing 2011’s “Bad Teacher” and directing and co-writing 2019’s “Good Boys.”

The cast of “No Hard Feelings” also includes Matthew Broderick, Hasan Minhaj, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Scott MacArthur, Kyle Mooney and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, according to IMDb. The film is slated for release June 16, 2023.
