Jersey Mike’s is coming to Bay Shore

|

Jersey Mike’s is bringing their subs to Bay Shore.

The sandwich shop franchise will be opening its newest Long Island location inside the Bay Shore Commons shopping plaza at 585 East Main Street on March 17.

“I’ve always loved the franchise,” said Vito Leone, manager of the new location. “The product is made very fresh and consistency is the key.”

Leone, 38, who is originally for Ronkonkoma but now lives in Bay Shore, says the community response has been very positive and Bay Shore will be a perfect home for the sub shop.

Leone says they chose the location, which used to be occupied by a Subway, because it gets a lot of foot traffic from the surrounding area, especially South Shore University Hospital.

Jersey Mike’s is for the most part all set up and ready to go, he says, all that’s left to do before the opening is hiring and training.

Leone has stopped by Bay Shore High School and East Islip High School to promote Jersey Mike’s with the hopes of drawing a younger crowd — as both customers and employees.

“We want to get the community involved,” Leone said.

People can apply to work at the new Jersey Mike’s in Bay Shore by stopping by between the hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Leone.

Jersey Mike’s in Bay Shore is opening just in time to participate in Jersey Mike’s 11th Annual Month of Giving.

During this annual fundraising campaign, which takes place every March, Jersey Mike’s partners with over 200 local charities that customers can donate to through the shop’s mobile app or in store.

This all leads up to Jersey Mike’s nationwide Day of Giving on March 31, where each location donates every single dollar that comes in to local charities.

“I’m super excited, I can’t wait,” Leone said.
