County officials are asking for the public’s help after a Jesus statue was stolen this week from the nativity scene on the lawn outside the H. Lee Denison Building in Hauppauge, authorities said.
Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina said the figure was taken earlier this week from the holiday display, which is set up annually on the county complex lawn and donated by St. Michael the Archangel Chapel.
Anyone with information about the stolen statue or its whereabouts is urged to contact the Suffolk County Police Department.
