Long Island travelers heading to Florida will soon have two new nonstop options out of Islip’s MacArthur Airport.
JetBlue announced Thursday it will launch flights from MacArthur (ISP) to Tampa (TPA) and Fort Myers (RSW) this winter, expanding on its existing service to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.
The Tampa flights will begin Dec. 19 and run four times weekly — Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays — through April 29, 2026. Fort Myers service starts Dec. 18 and will operate three times weekly — Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays — through April 28, 2026. Introductory fares start at $49 one-way, available through Aug. 17 for select January and February travel.

“We are committed to establishing MacArthur Airport as a hub for both local residents and travelers alike,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “We are pleased that JetBlue’s vision for enhanced connectivity aligns with our shared goal of serving the needs of Islip residents.”
Rob Schneider, MacArthur Airport Commissioner, said Long Islanders have been asking for these routes since JetBlue’s debut last fall.
“Since JetBlue launched service to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach last year, the community has been requesting additional destinations. Today, JetBlue has responded to this call with new service to Tampa and Fort Myers,” Schneider said. “These two new routes showcase the strong partnership between ISP and JetBlue, providing travelers with more options from the convenience and exceptional customer experience that ISP offers.”

JetBlue, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Long Island City, bills itself as “New York’s Hometown Airline.” It is currently the sixth-largest airline in the U.S. and the only major passenger carrier based in New York.
The new Long Island flights come as part of a broader JetBlue expansion, which also includes new routes from Tampa to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and from Fort Lauderdale to Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
MacArthur Airport has undergone over $100 million in upgrades since 2016, including runway and taxiway rehabilitations, a new ground transportation center, and ongoing mechanical and engineering improvements.
