A Kings Park 7-Eleven store sold one of nine third-prize winning Powerball tickets in New York from Monday night’s drawing, lottery officials said.
The ticket, worth $50,000, was purchased at the 7-located at 655 Route 25A. No one hit the jackpot, pushing the grand prize to an estimated $1.3 billion for Wednesday night’s drawing.
To win a third prize, a player must match four of the five white-ball numbers plus the red Power Ball.
Powerball players select five white balls numbered 1 through 69 and one red Power Ball numbered 1 through 26. Drawings are held live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Long Island has seen a run of success in recent days. In Saturday’s drawing, four third-prize tickets worth $50,000 each were sold at local shops in Copiague, Hauppauge, Syosset and Wantagh.
