The Great South Bay Music Festival, one of the South Shore’s most popular outdoor music events, returns this week to Patchogue’s Shorefront Park with four days of rock, reggae, pop-punk, jam bands and more.
If you’re heading to the festival for one day — or all four — here’s what to know.
If you go
The four-day music and arts festival runs from Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26, at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village.
Now celebrating its 18th anniversary, the festival will feature 55 performers across three stages, along with an artisan market, food court and several beverage tents.
Tickets remain available online, including single-day passes and multi-day packages. General admission, VIP and Ultra VIP options are available.
Children under 10 are admitted free. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival’s KidZone will offer a schedule of children’s entertainment featuring music, magic, puppetry, costumed characters and other activities.
The festival is held rain or shine, and there is no re-entry after leaving the grounds.
The box office and gate times are:
- Thursday: Box office opens at 1 p.m.; doors open at 3:30 p.m.
- Friday: Box office opens at 2 p.m.; doors open at 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Box office opens at 11:30 a.m.; doors open at 1 p.m.
- Sunday: Box office opens at 1 p.m.; doors open at 2 p.m.
Here are the headliners
The Used and Bayside — Thursday
The festival opens with a throwback night of alternative, emo and pop-punk music featuring The Used and Long Island’s own Bayside. Cartel, Koyo, Deadlands and others will also perform.
Sublime — Friday
Sublime, featuring original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh alongside Jakob Nowell, will headline the festival’s annual Rock-Reggae Beach Party. Common Kings, The Ries Brothers and Mystic Bowie’s Talking Dreads are also part of Friday’s lineup.
Gov’t Mule and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers — Saturday
Saturday’s traditional Jam Day will be led by Gov’t Mule, featuring Warren Haynes, and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers. Sierra Hull, LaMP and several other acts will also perform.
My Morning Jacket — Sunday
My Morning Jacket will close out the festival Sunday night with a scheduled two-and-a-half-hour headlining set. Little Feat, performing as part of its Last Farewell Tour, will also take the stage, along with an all-star group celebrating the music of Bob Weir.

The vendors and food court
The festival grounds will feature an artisan and craft market, a food court offering traditional festival favorites and healthier options, and several tents serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
A pop-up from Happy Days Dispensary will also be featured at this year’s festival.
Outside food and beverages, coolers, glass containers, large chairs, umbrellas and pets — except service animals arranged in advance — are among the items prohibited inside the festival. Light lawn chairs are permitted.
The parking
Free street parking is available in and around the festival site.
Paid parking is available for $25 per vehicle about a half-block from the festival entrance, near Leo Street and Rider Avenue. Spaces are limited, so festivalgoers are encouraged to arrive early.
Accessible parking is located directly across from the festival entrance on Smith Street.
Parking is included for VIP and Ultra VIP ticket holders, with designated spaces located nearby or on the festival grounds.
For Uber, Lyft and taxi drop-offs and pickups, use the corner of Rider Avenue and Smith Street while heading south, on the right-hand side.
Bicycle racks will be available along Smith Street and Rider Avenue.
Festivalgoers can also take the Long Island Rail Road to Patchogue station, which is less than a mile from Shorefront Park.
Giving back
The Great South Bay Music Festival will continue donating a portion of every ticket sold to the GSB–Stony Brook Cancer Center Fund.
Festival organizers say the event has raised more than $250,000 for the cancer center over the years.
Complimentary space inside the festival’s Storyville Tent will also be provided to local organizations raising awareness and funds for causes including domestic violence services, homelessness, animal rescue and voter registration.
Shorefront Park is located at 99 Smith St. in Patchogue.
