A new gym is in town and it’s a big one.
LA Fitness opened its doors in North Babylon at 1230 Deer Park Avenue last month.
The American gym chain has over 700 locations across North America; this marks the 15th and newest location on Long Island.
The closest LA Fitness to the Deer Park Avenue gym is in Lindenhurst, located at 455 Park Avenue.
As far as amenities go, the North Babylon fitness center offers a basketball court, indoor cycling room, indoor pool, and a group fitness room.
On April 14, the gym held its grand opening, during which Town of Babylon officials were invited to celebrate.
“The Town Board and I are very excited to welcome LA Fitness to the North Babylon area,” said Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “It is a beautiful, large facility that will offer residents the opportunity to exercise regularly with modern amenities.”
