Labor Day on Long Island often means a backyard barbecue or a weekend road trip. But if you’re staying close to home, why not let someone else do the cooking?
From half-priced wine to burgers and beer for $20, here are some Labor Day restaurant deals available across Long Island.
Teriyaki Madness, North Babylon
Teriyaki Madness, which opened its first Long Island location at 1201 Deer Park Ave. in North Babylon, is celebrating the end of summer with several deals.
Mad Rewards members can get 20% off their order and earn double points from Sept. 5 through Sept. 7.
The fast-casual restaurant is also offering free delivery every Tuesday through Sept. 29.
The Tap Room, multiple locations
With nine locations across Long Island, from Patchogue to Rockville Centre, The Tap Room will open at noon on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.
The restaurant’s weekly specials include a Tap Room Smashburger and 16-ounce Modelo draft for $20.
Also available Mondays throughout September is “The Big Kahuna,” a 1-liter Kona Big Wave, including on Labor Day.
The James, Babylon Village
Looking for something a little more upscale? The James in Babylon Village offers 50% off bottles of wine priced at more than $150 on Mondays, including Labor Day.
The restaurant’s Garden City location offers the same deal on Wednesdays.
The James’ $59 prix fixe menu, normally available most Sundays through Thursdays in Babylon Village, is not offered on holidays, according to the restaurant’s website.
Chili’s, multiple locations
Chili’s has five Long Island locations in Bay Shore, East Northport, Farmingdale, Bethpage and Westbury.
Its popular “3 For Me” deal includes an entrée with a side, a starter and a non-alcoholic drink starting at $10.99.
Rewards members can also get free chips and salsa during visits.
It’s not technically a Labor Day special, but it’s still one of the more affordable dining options available for the holiday.
Outback Steakhouse, multiple locations
Outback Steakhouse has several Long Island locations, including Holbrook and Westbury.
Kids eat free on Mondays, including Labor Day, with the purchase of an adult entrée.
Customers should mention the “Free Joey Meal” when ordering in person or use the code “JOEYFREE” for online orders.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Valley Stream
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in Valley Stream offers its $13 Pizookie Meal Deal Monday through Friday, including Labor Day.
The deal includes an entrée and side, plus a Personal Pizookie for $13.
Some specialty and seasonal Pizookies may cost extra.
Zest, Bay Shore
Hosting a Labor Day crowd but don’t want to cook?
Zest in Bay Shore offers a weekly family meal deal for $39.99.
A Zest representative told Greater Long Island the restaurant can also cater Labor Day gatherings with options ranging from barbecue classics to Italian dishes.
Cookout sides are also available starting at $125.
The restaurant said additional in-house Labor Day specials may also be announced for the week of Sept. 7.
Navy Beach, Montauk
Heading to the East End for Labor Day weekend?
Navy Beach in Montauk will open at noon from Friday, Sept. 4, through Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.
The restaurant will also hold its final Apres Monday of the season, with featured drinks including $15 spritzes and $6 Navy Summer Ales.
Check your local favorites
Plenty of locally owned pizzerias and Italian restaurants also offer weekly specials, though holiday availability can vary.
It’s a good idea to call ahead or check your favorite restaurant’s website or social media pages to see whether its regular Monday deals will be available on Labor Day.
