Las Vegas Sands has bailed on its casino bid for Nassau, so what’s next?

Newsday is reporting that Las Vegas Sands is dropping its bid to build a casino and resort at the Nassau Coliseum property in Uniondale.

So back to the drawing board for the county, Town of Hempstead and the rest of Long Island.

Now is a good time for Long Islanders to start weighing in on the future of these 72 acres right in the heart of Nassau County — such as a NASCAR racetrack. Couldn’t you just picture all the campers parked at Eisenhower Park for one glorious weekend every summer?
