The Lessing’s Hospitality Group was on hand to celebrate Family and Children Association (FCA)‘s 135th birthday this week.

FCA, a non-profit agency helping vulnerable children, seniors, families on Long Island, hosted its Safe and Warm, LI’s Largest Quilt Campaign happened on Friday at Mineola Athletic Association Baseball Fields.

“The quilt symbolizes the idea that from many, come one,” said an FCA spokesperson. “By working together, those who need it most can be lifted up and receive the support they need.”

The Lessing’s, which owns and operates restaurants and catering halls across Long Island, including Babylon’s Post Office Cafe, was one of the several organizations to join the day’s festivities.

Lessing’s chef William Muzio from the View in Oakdale prepared three recipes from The Home Helper— Cookbook — in celebration of the FCA’s history.

“Lessing’s Hospitality Group is honored to be a part of the 135-year celebration and support the FCA,” said Michael Lessing, president of the Lessing’s Hospitality Group. “FCA is focused on the same mission as when it started 135 years ago and continues to touch the lives of over 30,000 Long Islanders each year. It is rare to see an organization withstand the test of time.”
