Lessing’s Hospitality Group to donate proceeds from Local Cheer brew to Island Harvest

|

Serving up some “local cheer” for the holiday season.

That’s what the Long Island-based Lessing’s Hospitality Group does each year with seasonal beer with the same namesake.

Local Cheer, which is brewed by the Blue Point Brewing Company, will benefit the nonprofit Island Harvest with 10 percent of sales going to the hunger relief organization.

The amber ale is being sold at the Lessing’s ten full-service restaurants–including Southside Bar and Restaurant– and at the new catering hall The Heritage Club in Bethpage for the entire month of December.

In addition to the brew, the Lessing’s will be donating back to Island Harvest at its annual company holiday party. There, the company is asking its employees to bring in non-perishable items for the less fortunate.

“Giving back to the community is important to Lessing’s,” said Jennifer Cantin, the organization’s director of marketing. “Our annual holiday party is the perfect opportunity for us to come together and celebrate the season, while also collecting items to help a local family in need.”
