Cops searching for missing elderly Levittown man

Nassau County police launched a search Wednesday for an 80-year-old Levittown man who went missing shortly after midnight.

Winston Mahabir left his Tulip Lane residence about 1:25 a.m. and was reported missing an hour later, the the police department’s Missing Persons Squad said. He is described as an Indian man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 108 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, plaid pajama pants, and black slippers, and carrying a green-and-white blanket. Police say there are no known possible destinations.

Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516.573.7347 or call 911.
