Lidl opens in Commack; supermarket chain now has 23 stores on Long Island 

Dozens of shoppers came down to celebrate Lidl’s grand opening in Commack on Wednesday. 

The festivities kicked off at 8 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the first 100 customers receiving special gift cards ranging from $5 to $100. 

Located in the Mayfair Shopping Center at 210 E. Jericho Turnpike, this new Lidl marks the supermarket chain’s 23rd location on Long Island. The 30,000 square-foot space used to be home to a Stein Mart.

Lidl is slated to open its largest supermarket to date, in Deer Park, sometime this winter. 

During their grand opening celebration in Commack, the Lidl team gave out free samples, Lidl swag, and other gifts. There are also ongoing special grand opening deals on their products. 

Lidl in Commack currently operates daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
