Suffolk Police successfully used a drone to track down a Lindenhurst burglary suspect and arrest him following a brief foot pursuit, police said Wednesday.
First Precinct officers responded to a home on Richmond Avenue at 7:06 p.m. Monday after a 911 caller reported a burglary. The suspect fled before officers arrived, prompting detectives to deploy a drone as police searched the area.
Using information from witnesses, detectives operating the drone located the suspect and directed officers on the ground to his position. Following a short foot pursuit, 26-year-old Isaias Miranda was arrested on Kings Avenue at 7:42 p.m.

Suffolk Police posted video of the pursuit and arrest on social media.
“A burglar may have thought he was in the clear after fleeing from a Lindenhurst home earlier this week but he wasn’t aware of the eyes up above,” Suffolk Police said in its Facebook post.
Miranda is charged with second-degree burglary and possession of burglar’s tools. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
