Community members, family and friends gathered in Lindenhurst on Monday night for a candlelight vigil honoring Edeedson “Eddy” Ciné Jr., the 23-year-old CVS employee who was fatally stabbed while working on Christmas night.
The vigil was held near the village gazebo.
Several speakers addressed the crowd, including family members and community leaders, but the evening centered on the words of Ciné’s father, Edeedson Ciné Sr. He thanked the community, law enforcement and all those who had supported his family, while reflecting on his son’s character, faith and the values he lived by.
The full video below, taken by Eric Micallef, captures the remarks from the vigil, including Ciné Sr.’s emotional reflections.
