A beautiful Sunday afternoon on a. softball diamond in Seaford turned ugly in a hurry.

Police said a dispute between two teams at Cedar Creek Park escalated into a full-on confrontation that ended with one player smashed in the head with a metal bat and another in handcuffs.

Cops responded to the ruckus at the park just after 2 p.m. Detectives said an argument broke out during a recreational softball game and quickly boiled over.

Brian Polanco, 32, of Lindenhurst is accused of striking a 34-year-old man in the head with a metal bat during the dispute. He pleaded not guilty on Monday in Nassau First District Court in Hempstead to second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was released without bail.
