A Long Beach mother faces a battery of charges — including DWI and assault — related to a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon that turned violent and left two officers injured, Nassau Police said.
Authorities said officers saw a green 2026 Infiniti QX60 traveling south on Long Beach Road in North Long Beach at 3:33 p.m. weaving from its lane.
When officers pulled the car over, its driver, 36-year-old Alisha Thomas, was found to be intoxicated, police said.
Cops said further that Thomas resisted arrest and became combative, injuring two officers during the struggle. Thomas and the two cops were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Thomas, a mother of three, was arraigned Thursday at Nassau First District Court. She pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Bail for Thomas was set at $10,000 cash, $25,000 insured bond, or $50,000 partially secured surety bond.
