Long Island man wins $1 million playing Powerball in Greenvale

|

An Old Brookville man has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize, New York Lottery announced today.

Greg Schwab scored the hefty second prize for matching the first five numbers picked in the Feb. 6 drawing. The winning numbers that day were 05, 11, 22, 23 and 69, with the Powerball 07.

Schwab purchased the winning ticket at Barefoot Peddler, located at 37 Glen Cove Rd. in Greenvale. He received his prize as a $651 one-time lump sum payment.

GreaterLongIsland reported in February that the Barefoot Peddler was one of two local spots where a million-dollar Powerball ticket was purchased in the Feb. 6 drawing. The other spot was Farmingdale Petroleum Inc., located at 400 S. Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville.
