A Central Islip woman is celebrating a major payday after winning $1 million on a New York Lottery scratch-off game.
Janiah Williams claimed the top prize on Tuesday and opted for a one-time lump sum payment of $455,700 after required withholdings, New York Lottery officials said. She purchased the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 56 Lowell Ave. in Islip Terrace.
Her lucky ticket was part of the $1,000,000 Holiday Cash game, which has now had all its top prizes claimed, according to lottery officials. Players with lower-tier Holiday Cash game prizes have until Jan. 13, 2026, to redeem their winnings.
