Construction has ended. And soon you’ll get to construct calzones at Long Island’s first-ever D.P. Dough in Stony Brook — set to open next month.
For the uninitiated, D.P. Dough is a national franchise that specializes in custom calzones. Within the menu, patrons can choose from several types of meat, cheeses, and toppings — all in the “Construction Zone” area.
As previously reported, D.P. Dough, located at 1007 Route 25A, was expected to open last fall but several permitting delays slowed the process for franchise owner Michael Frey.
After hopping through his last hurdle, Frey, who lives in Mount Sinai, says he’s just weeks away from launch.
“I am relieved,” said Frey, who found out about D.P. Dough as a teenager visiting Upstate New York. “We have a tentative opening date for Sept. 13.”
D.P. Dough Stony Brook will announce its official grand opening soon along with its Free Calzone Day.
