‘Lost Girls,’ the movie about the Gilgo Beach murders, is streaming now on Netflix


The Netflix movie based on the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders is now available for streaming.

“Lost Girls,” a 95-minute flick, released on the streaming service today.

The film, produced by award-winning documentarian Liz Garbus, is based on the non-fiction book with the same title. The movie follows the mother of Shannan Gilbert, a woman who was believed to be murdered by the Long Island Serial Killer.

Shannan’s mother, Mari Gilbert, is played by Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan of “Gone Baby Gone” and “The Office.”

In January, “Lost Girls” premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. There, it received mixed reviews by the critics.
