A Bay Shore family is seeking the community’s help in helping find a lost parrot.
The bird, named Tokio, belongs to a teenage girl in the area who suffers from depression and anxiety. The mother told GreaterBayShore bird was purchased as a birthday gift for her daughter and the pet has helped in improving her mental health.
The desperate family said the pet escaped the family’s house near Bay Shore High School on April 23.
Tokio, pictured below, is a male parrot with green with orange and yellow feathers. If found, the family says not to chase, call or whistle as the bird may run away in fear.
