Lucharitos is expanding — again!

The popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain announced it will be opening a new location at the Station Yards development in Ronkonkoma, GreaterLongIsland.com has learned.

TRITEC Real Estate Company, the developers of Station Yards, and the restaurant’s ownership have signed a lease to occupy a 1,500-square-foot space within the development, situated at the LIRR station.

Lucharitos began in 2012 by Marc LaMaina, who opened up his first shop in a 750-square-foot space in Greenport. He later expanded to Center Moriches, Mattituck, Melville and has a Mineola location in the works. He also operates Good JuJu’s, a seafood and BBQ shack, in Riverhead, as well as a burger arcade concept inside of Lucharitos Mattituck.

LaMaina said he launched the Lucharitos concept to have people feel like they’re on vacation.

“Creating that vibe has been the cornerstone of the Lucharitos brand since day one,” he said. “The combination of tacos, margaritas, nostalgic pro wrestling, and a big hit of genuine hospitality really caught on.”

Lucharitos will be joining Great South Bay Brewery, Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar, Poki Poke, Redfine Meals at Station Yards. More leases are also in the works.

“The inclusion of Lucharitos at Station Yards signifies a major milestone in our development as we continue to fill spaces with dynamic tenants,” said Jimmy Coughlan, vice president of development at TRITEC. “Lucharito’s lively atmosphere and flavorful dishes are the perfect complement to make Station Yards a culinary and community destination.”

TRITEC has been building out its Station Yard project in multiple phases, completing its first phase of 489 apartment homes, Alston Station Yards, in 2021.

This current development, which features 388 apartment homes, 70,000 square feet of retail space, 16,500 square feet of office and a public plaza, is expected to be complete in late spring or early summer.
