Long Island’s newest entertainment destination will open its doors on May 18.
Main Event, the Texas-based restaurant and “fun for all ages” chain owned by Dave & Busters, is coming to the spot previously occupied by Christmas Tree Shops, and later Wayfair at Tanger Outlets in Deer Park.
It’s the company’s first New York state location.
Think Dave & Busters, but with even more family-oriented options.
“At Main Event, there will be more activities. Dave & Busters is known mostly for only having games,” Multi Market Events Manager Karen Kelly told Greater Long Island. “There will be 24 lanes of bowling as well as laser tag, which is unique to Main Event.”
The new space also has three spacious party rooms, which Kelly says can be used for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16s, adult parties and more.
“It’s going to be a great place to have all types of events,” said Kelly. “Great food and great entertainment all under one roof.”
There’s also a VIP room and a full game room in the more than 46,000 square foot venue.
Main Event opened its first location in 1998 in Lewisville, Texas, and now operates more than 60 venues nationwide, including in Orlando, Atlanta and Memphis.
The closest one is currently in Delaware.
Dave & Buster’s acquired Main Event in 2022 in a deal valued at about $835 million.
