Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a 27-year-old man found on a Blue Point beach early Tuesday morning.
Suffolk County Fifth Precinct officers were called to the beach at the end of Blue Point Avenue about 6:30 a.m. after a passerby reported discovering the man’s body, police said. When the cops arrived at the scene, they found Carlos Lopez of Central Islip with stab wounds.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Police have yet to release additional details regarding the circumstances of his death or any potential suspects.
