Manorville man, 20, charged with killing homeless man in Medford

A 20-year-old Manorville man faces a second-degree murder charge after allegedly stabbing a homeless man to death during an altercation in Medford Monday afternoon, police said.

Joseph Norton stabbed 32-year-old Timothy Stark in the back on Express Drive South at Route 112 about 3:30 p.m., and then fled the scene in a vehicle, according to Suffolk Police.

Stark was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.

A short time later, cops located and arrested Norton at the intersection of Yaphank Avenue and Horseblock Road in Yaphank. Access to the Long Island Expressway’s Exit 64 for Route 112 was closed for several hours as police investigated the incident.

The suspect was held overnight by Suffolk Police and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
