The Giunta’s Meat Farms in Medford on Route 112 is moving to a much larger location a little over a mile away to the site of the former Pathmark store at 399 Medford Avenue in Patchogue.
Pathmark closed all of its locations after parent company Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) went bankrupt in 2015.
The 65,000-square-foot building has been completely renovated and looks to be just about ready to start being stocked with products. A representative from Meat Farms who did not give a name said the target date to open is April 1.
A sign at the original Medford location says that the store is around 16,000 square feet and is now available for rent.
The new store will be located close to the Shop Rite at 95 Sunrise Highway in Patchogue and right behind the Sinclair Dino Mart gas station. Shoppers at the Giunta’s Meat Farms will have direct access to the parking lot off of Medford Avenue heading northbound.
There is no sign on the new building yet but a delivery truck in the parking lot is displaying a sign that says Giunta’s Meat Farms is coming soon. A similar truck at the old location says, “We’re moving one mile south on Route 112: 399 Medford Ave, Patchogue.”
New cart return corrals in the new parking lot already have the Giunta’s Meat Farms logo on them.
